Meet the Founders

Learn and Play My Way was founded by two passionate parents, Taneisha and Xavier.

About

Taneisha Brown, M.S.

Founder

After earning my master's degree in Adult Education and Human Resources Development from Florida International University, I aspired to become a higher education administrator. I was influenced and fascinated by my co-workers' work responsibilities at the University of Miami. I was eager to assist and guide young adults throughout their four-year academic journeys. However, after receiving Jayden's autism diagnosis, my career plans shifted. I quickly transformed into my son's advocate overnight and became a warrior mom in the autism world.

About

Xavier Brown, B.S.

Co-Founder

I had to come to terms with Jayden's diagnosis. Especially, since early intervention is key. As a father, when your child is affected by autism, it's not something to easily accept. Similarly, I knew learning was going to be a challenge for him. Jayden is certainly inquisitive! His mom and I swiftly observed he is a kinesthetic learner. When that kid can physically execute a task, he's in his element. Likewise, he's an autodidact. We didn't see this coming - at all. He taught himself Spanish (most animals) and to write in cursive. Yes! I am a proud father! In the end, learning shouldn't be ingraining information into students’ minds to memorize — it’s about allowing them to lead with fun tools that will enable them to think critically and succeed.
