At Learn and Play My Way, our mission has always been rooted in compassion, advocacy, and the belief that every child and adult with special needs deserves access to meaningful support. Today, we are proud to announce the addition of two extraordinary leaders to our Board of Directors—Tomiky Darby and Zariah Russell. Each brings unique perspectives, personal passion, and professional dedication to our community, and we are excited to welcome them into the heart of our organization.

Meet Tomiky Darby — Advocate, Mother, and Community Voice

Tomiky Darby joins our board with a deeply personal connection to our mission. As a devoted mother of a child with autism, Tomiky understands firsthand the challenges and triumphs that families in the special needs community experience every day. Her journey has shaped her into a powerful advocate—one who is not only committed to ensuring her own child thrives, but also passionate about uplifting other families who may be navigating similar paths.

Tomiky brings to the board:

  • A family-centered perspective rooted in lived experience

  • A strong voice for parent advocacy and inclusion

  • A commitment to expanding access to support programs and community resources

Her empathy, resilience, and determination will help guide our organization as we continue to strengthen our impact.

Meet Zariah Russell — Future Applied Behavior Analyst and Emerging Leader

We are equally thrilled to welcome Zariah Russell, a rising professional in the field of

behavioral science. Zariah is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)—a discipline focused on understanding behavior and helping individuals with developmental disabilities reach their fullest potential.

Zariah brings:

  • Academic knowledge in behavioral intervention and therapy

  • A passion for supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities

  • A forward-thinking mindset grounded in research, ethics, and compassion

As she continues her graduate studies, Zariah is committed to using her growing expertise to advocate for evidence-based support and to help shape innovative programming within the organization.

Building a Stronger Future Together

The addition of Tomiky and Zariah reflects our continued commitment to elevating voices from both lived experience and professional practice. Their combined strengths will help us expand our programs, inspire new initiatives, and deepen our connection to the families and individuals we serve.

Please join us in welcoming Tomiky Darby and Zariah Russell to the Board of Directors. With leaders like them, the future of Learn and Play My Way is bright and full of promise.
