Something beautiful just happened to a beautiful individual (inside and out)! She literally just walked across that grand stage 5 minutes ago. She accepted her bachelor's degree from Columbus State University. She is officially an alumnus of CSU! The AUsome RBT - Zariah Russell.

As a mom of a child with special needs, one of the worries that I have for my son is that he will interact with people who are heartless and unaware of what autism is. Well, I can totally say the opposite about @zariah.uniquee, she is truly the epitome of a leader! She was gracious and very enthusiastic about volunteering for our Arts & Crafts Special Needs event at the @ocee_library_tab in @cityofalpharetta! She was kind, patient, friendly, and extremely personable with each and every special child that attended the event - this is what #autismawareness and #autismacceptance is all about.

Jayden inspired Zariah to take a path that may not seem as certain, but for which she can frame a purpose for. For the past year and a half, Zariah has worked for Goal Point Behavior Therapy located in Warner Robins, GA as a Registered Behavior Therapist. Her relentless commitment and passion for assisting special kiddos shined through - so much so - that she was chosen from several RBT's to work for the Columbus location Goal Point Therapy center during her academic year at CSU.

Back story: Her parents are young. Hard working. Have always been. If they knew nothing else about life, they knew their girls would not experience the same struggles they did with regard to obtaining an education. They were determined to remove barriers that interfered with learning. They did. My brother and sister respects academia and accepted nothing but the best from her efforts to pursue a higher education.

Very few graduates can say, “I finished undergrad with a zero balance thanks to my parents!” Zariah can! She did it! Congratulations to you Z!

I can certainly see a bright future for this CSU Alunni within the therapy field hopefully assisting our #autismcommunities with cognitive, and sensory skills that will allow our kids to thrive and build independence. You are AUsome Zariah!

Learn and Play My Way celebrates Zariah Russell, B.S., RBT - we gladly put respect on your name and those letters behind it!
