About
Tomiky Darby, M.Ed.
Georgia Schools Educator and Multi-Tiered System of Support Specialist
In 2012, I committed fully to the field of education. Over the past 13 years, I have served in various roles, beginning as a substitute teacher and later earning a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I spent most of my classroom years teaching first grade, and I now serve as a Multi-Tiered System of Support Specialist, coordinating academic and behavioral interventions for students in general education settings.
Today, motherhood drives my purpose more than ever. My daughter, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder shortly before her second birthday, has reshaped my passion into a deep commitment to advocacy. As an autism mom and advocate, I am determined to secure the supports and opportunities she—and others on the spectrum—need to thrive. With this new chapter, my mission is clear: to champion advocacy, access, and meaningful support for individuals with autism and their families.

About
Kimberlee Smith, B.S.
Georgia Certified Educator, Middle School, Special Education; General Education – Mercer University; Georgia Teacher Alternative Preparation Program
In 1998, I completed my B.S. degree in Communications from Mercer University. After working in various roles at Mercer, I came to the realization that I was not truly following my heart’s longtime passion…. teaching and mentoring young people in a classroom. I made the decision to enroll in Mercer’s School of Education and completed my core coursework at Mercer.
I completed my certification requirements through the Georgia
Teacher Alternative Preparation Program (Ga TAPP). I spent 11 years teaching ELA, Social Studies, and Science in the general education setting. My past 12 years have been spent doing what I love best…teaching awesomely talented and phenomenal students in MOID (Moderate Intellectual Disabilities) and MID (Mild Intellectual Disabilities) self-contained classrooms in two Georgia school districts. These superstars have taught me just as much as I have taught them over the years. I am a warrior for our exceptional students. I fully support advocacy, improvement of our state’s special education programs, and access and support for our exceptional students.
At home, I am a wife and mom of one daughter and a son-in-law. My daughter is also involved in the field of Education. I also claim to be mom to4 fur-kids; Daisy, Lil Man, Lucy, and Doof.
